Sitamata wildlife sanctuary near Talawada village is one of the best places to explore bird watching, nature and wild life.

This wildlife sanctuary was a hunting place for the royal families of Pratapgarh, Dhariyawad, Bansi, Boheda and Bari Sadri. It is a dense forest, with an area of 423 square kilometers. The land of sanctuary is undulating because of the confluence of three different formations — Malwa Plateau, the Vindhyachal Hills and Aravali mountain ranges. Jakham, Karmoi ans sitamata river crosses the sanctuary with no of small and big dam, the biggest one is the Jakham dam. The dense forest full of fauna and flora has a large number of Leopards, wild bor, Hyna, Jackel, Fox, Jungle cats, porcupine, Spotted Deer, Four Horned Antelope and Nilgai. Where the most important and conspicuous animal of the flying squirrel, which can be observed gliding between the trees during the night, this nocturnal creature hides in the daylight in the tree hollows and comes out at sunset.
